Environment

Atlandes commits to the motorway of tomorrow

A motorway that promotes cleaner mobility, more respectful of the surrounding biodiversity and of people.

Selective
sorting

As part of its mission to maintain the motorway network, Atlandes frequently checks the condition of the carriageways on the A63 Landes. For the comfort and safety of users, the pavements are regularly serviced or resurfaced, to repair damage caused by traffic and weather conditions.

In order to manage waste and its disposal, very specific measures have been defined in the Waste Disposal Plan (SED) and have been implemented:
- management of green waste from deforestation activities
- setting up waste collection systems (specific skips or containers for CIW, HHW, etc.)
- installation of waste collection systems (containers, bins, etc.) at workstations
- raising staff awareness of good sorting practices and good behaviour (e.g. not abandoning waste such as bottles or aerosol cans): posters, environmental safety quarter-hour, etc.
- elimination of waste through channels adapted to its nature
- constant cleaning of the site and its surroundings
- no illegal dumping
- burying waste is prohibited
- no burning of waste.

Today, selective sorting is in place at the service and rest areas.
Since August 2018, this has included selective sorting of cigarette butts for recycling (see specific article).

Water
resources

The project is located within the Adour-Garonne basin. The numerous water tables present in this sector are highly permeable and are fed by rainfall that infiltrates the ground, as well as by the rivers that run alongside them in the alluvial plains. Improving the protection of water resources is clearly one of the objectives of the transformation of the N10 into the A63 motorway. As part of the 2×3 lane development of the A63 motorway, a water policy file has been drawn up in accordance with article R.214-6 of the Environment Code.

ESG Indicators

Atlandes ESG policy has defined a limited number of KPI to be followed and reported on. This page will evolve through time.

For 2021, water consumption, energy consumption, waste disposal and CO2 emissions have been estimated and are published below.
