In the event of an emergency, SOS Autoroute is an application that uses your smartphone's geolocation to send out an emergency call and report your position to the motorway's safety centre, ensuring that emergency services can respond quickly and effectively. 100% free, it is available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. The new version also allows you to report an emergency involving another motorist.
1/ Download the application and create your account
Before you set off, we recommend that you create your SOS Autoroute account, filling in the details of your vehicle and yourself (2 minutes is all it takes). Although optional, this step will enable emergency services to locate you more quickly in the event of an emergency, even with French or foreign numbers.
2/ Don't panic in an emergency
Stand carefully behind the guardrail. Press the call button and fill in the emergency information. From now on, you can also report an emergency that does not concern your vehicle.
3/ Contacting the security control centre
It's done automatically! Your geolocation and all the information about your vehicle are transmitted for a faster response. Outside the coverage area, you are directly redirected to 112 (European emergency number).
