An initiative supported by Atlandes as part of the “1% landscape and development” programme*. With a 50% grant from Atlandes, several local authorities have set up carpooling areas on or near the A63 motorway to provide practical solutions for frequent journeys. These areas are designed to facilitate the grouping of drivers and passengers, thereby helping to reduce CO2 emissions and traffic jams.
*The “1% Paysage” is a sustainable development programme aimed at financing landscaping and development projects along the A63 motorway in the Landes region. Its aim is to enhance the surrounding landscapes to promote the economic, touristic and cultural development of the areas concerned, in partnership with the State, socio-economic players and local authorities.
