- Class A :
vehicles with two axles of which the total height is higher or equal to 3 meters and of which the authorized total gross vehicle mass (GMV) is lower than 12 tons, vehicles with two axles whose authorized total gross vehicle mass (GMV) lies between 3,5 tons and 12 tons.
- Class B :
vehicles with two axles whose authorized total gross vehicle mass (GMV) is higher than 12 tons, vehicles with two axles and vehicles or sets of vehicles with three axles, of which the total height is equal to or higher than 3 meters or of which the authorized total gross vehicle mass (GMV) is higher than 3,5 tons.
- Class C :
vehicles or sets of vehicles with more than three axles, of which the total height is equal to or higher than 3 meters or of which the authorized total gross vehicle mass (GMV) is higher than 3,5 tons.
